One of the more standout Rick Owens pieces from collections mainly because it had prominent use of graphics and images instead of plain materials. These series of embroidered “messiah” pieces are from Faun, a collection based off an early controversial ballet that shocked the public with its obscene imagery. The images embroidered are almost in cave painting style and done by Ephemerism, an artist who was pulled from his rough life by Michele Lamy after knocking on the door of their head offices looking for any work. He would doodle on all types of things and Michele saved them, eventually leading to them ending up on pieces like these. The embroidery on these is cool as the different types of threading leads to different texture effects such as the fraying thread for the hair.
