OG Pre-Hunrod Stone Ring
Size: (see ring sizer measurements and determine)
Considered one of the earliest ventures into what now exists as the Hunrod jewelry line with Michelle Lamy (Hun) and Loree Rodkin (Rod), this jewelry collection was under the creativity of artist and jewelry maker Christiane Billet and Michelle Lamy. Lamy was a longtime fan of Billet’s bronze raw sculptures with a wrinkled look simulating the jewelry of dessert bazaars. The collection features numbered pieces many of which Lamy wears amongst her heavily decorated arms and fingers. This one is probably one of the hardest to identify and least documented with only one similar ring at a French auction popping up, but it seems to have an edition number that rubbed off, as well as the fact that Billet apparently never made jewelry this complex or multi-material until collaborating with Rick Owens brand. The ring as far as I can compare to other known Rick x Billet works features what I’ve seen listed as “Red Jadeite”, Quartz, Sterling Silver, and Patinated Bronze. It features a signature consistent with the ones occurring during the Rick Owens collaborative era as well. Seeing as smaller, complex “Hunrod” Rick Owens rings retail for around 16k, I’m being liberal but weary with pricing. Billet now sticks to private artwork like abstract sculptures as well. Regardless, the ring slaps.
