A brand by Samuel Ross A-Cold-Wall is a strange brand with a lot of grey scaled brutalist themes combined with sometimes techwear-ish styles. It’s almost a combination of different styles and trends, be it washed out pallets, cargo pockets, zippers, oversized fits, distressing and fading, etc. The name A-Cold-Wall refers to the colors of concrete and slate walls throughout low income areas in the UK. The * and - dashes are calls to literary devices and references some being to Black Arts and Poetry. The brand definitely has a very recognizable aesthetic where one could see a piece they make that doesn’t match the brand and could call it as not fitting in. The brand gets vibes across via mixing of graphics/text and cuts seen in many other popular street designers such as Raf and Jun, but Ross’s mentor was Abloh as noticed in the large block logos and fonts. This causes a lot of overlooking into what is apparently a very personal and thought out brand.
