Since 1989 Margiela released many tabi styles that became a staple for women and on the runways. The original runway had them dipped in red paint to leave footprints that would draw attention to the footwear. There are even limited edition runs of them. Originally a women’s shoe, they have now reached popularity with men and are now being made in bigger sizes.
