1999 Artisanal Duvet Coat + 1/1 Cover
1999 Artisanal Duvet Coat + 1/1 Cover
Marked size: M
Historical art piece from Margiela, mostly in museums so was surprised to have this in our collection. It’s rare to get a cover (usually sold for 5,000$ separately) AND an original down duvet coat (rarely seen mostly private auctions)
The coat was part of the anti-runway that was a pre-recorded runway that was later shown to people at the venue. The coat was made from Italian Featherlite down covers.
The jacket along with being at many museums was also covered by Bill Cunningham for the New York Times as he saw these looks in the streets of New York. One of these documented looks could very well be this exact jacket.
Condition: used, vintage condition. Some marks that may be original as the materials are all upcycled. The cover is from a vintage 1970’s French sheet. Zipper on left arm is a bit weird so be extra careful or simply don’t take it off, the piece is very old but still fully functional!
