Originally introduced by the company Mars 91 years ago in 1930, the name Snickers came from the name of the Mars family’s favorite horse “Snickers”. The bar materials include a nougat topped with caramel and peanuts, that has been put inside of milk chocolate to form a bar. In December of 2000 there was a massive Australian recall in which an anonymous series of letters stated that the individual had poisoned snicker bars on store shelves. The letters included a snicker bar laced with rat poison and several bars were found to be tampered with in some stores.
