Launched in 2008 by Fumito Ganryu under the Comme Des Garcons family of designers and lines. He started as a pattern maker for Junya Watanabe. The brand noted that they weren’t concerned with fitting in with most designs. The aesthetic was a mix of casual looks with Japanese style injected into it, and wild cropped yet baggy silhouettes and vibrant colors. This jacket is a nice, yet calm representation of the brand with its fade of colors put on a light fitted denim jacket. The brand closed in 2017 but seems to have reappeared as “Fumito Ganryu”.
