A mink fur coat from the 2015 collection. Was never released to public, and can be see in Levy’s interview on YouTube. A real mink fur jacket with a spray painted cross on the back and structured shoulders. The graffiti mink fur is an excellent image to describe ERD.
ERD is an interesting, yet controversial brand by Henri Levy. The brand started with Levy customizing jackets that were often thrifted vintage pieces, that he then sold to high profile clientele. The brand focuses on the combination of the luxury focused rich appearance mixed with the vibes and images of punk culture. These two cultures essentially would despise each other if they were locked in a room together, so it’s funny to see them combined forcefully together. It’s also funny because both cultures can have rather annoying members that gate-keep parts of the culture, especially to keep people from either subculture out. ERD produces a lot of edgy, ironic, and funny pieces, such as a cashmere noose that sometimes make a mockery of humanity and modern society.
