Bape made an extremely important impact on fashion in the early 2000’s with its large colorful designs and specifically the shoes. Bapestas are a take on what was once a popular yet bland Nike Air Force one, Nigo (the creator of Bape) decided to essentially make his own, wilder interpretation of Airforces with a shooting Bape “Sta” and wild materials and vibrant colors. This led companies including Nike to begin pushing the boundaries of the designs and colors for their shoes.
